Take a Hike--Recommendations From Dr. Marc

Punchbowl Falls
Finally, it's feeling like Spring--or Summer, here in the Northwest! Because we never know if the sun is staying put or is soon to go, I'm sure you've been taking full advantage of this new season and have been soaking up the sun.

Hiking is one of my favorite activities. So when I was asked recently about my favorite hikes in the area, a handful of great places came to mind.
- Wahclella Falls--It's family friendly, just 2 mi. and a great view of Munra Falls.
- Eagle Creek Trailhead--There are many routes to choose from at this trailhead. You can visit the most photographed waterfall in the area and hike Punchbowl Falls (3.8 mi.), or make a day hike of it and do the Tunnel Falls Hike (12 mi. roundtrip) and take in the many waterfalls along the way.
- Naturally, Beacon Rock and the Hamilton Mountain Loop for beautiful views of the Columbia River Gorge.
- Falls Creek Falls--6.2 mi. roundtrip, creek beds, forested trail, suspension bridge and spectacular views of the falls and roaring waters.
My number one rule for a hike is that it must have a waterfall!
Now that I've reflected on each of these great hikes, I'm ready to hit the trail.
How about you? Any great hike recommendations?
